For some reason, learning the Light Manager Air new IR Codes does not work very well...
In very rare occasions (only once today) a new code is picked-up.

Curent versions (see also attachment SoftwareInformation.png):
- Software AirStudio: 9.9
- Firmware Light Manager Air: 9.0

What I try to do is the following (see also attachment: Steps.png):
1. Open AirStudio
2. Navigate to 'Actuator Administration'
3. Select Actuator Tab 'IR - RF - LAN'
4. Select 'Infrared'
5. Click 'Learn' (behind button 1)
6. The Learn IR window opens
7. Press button on remote
8. Nothing happens

What am I doing wrong/missing?

Please help.

Thanks.

The procedure is correct actually. What happens if you try learning a 433 MHz remote - do you have an 433 MHz remote for this purpose?

Is there something special about the system, like virtualized Windows on a Mac? Is there an anti virus program running besides Windows Defender?

Hi JBMedia,

Thanks for the quick response.

Nothing special about the machine, just a Windows 10 machine with only Windows Defender (no other anti-virus software).
Uninstalled airStudio 9.9 and tried different versions (9.5.3, 9.6.1, 9.7.6); all show the same behavior.
Tried 3 different laptops; all show the same behavior.

Windows Defender allows airStudio to communicate over the network (see attachment 'AllowWindowsDefender').

Strange thing is that it worked before, all 433 MHz and a single InfraRed signal is leared a long time ago (see attachment 'ActuatorAdministration').

Also tried learning a 433 MHz signal now, if I check the RF Transmitter window the signal is picked up by the LightManager Air, however the signal is not "learned" (see attachment 'SignalPickedUp').

Is it possible to downgrade the firmware, to check if this might be causing the learning module to fail? Or do you suggest another next step?

Hope to hear soon.

Thanks.

Tom

When you press the learn button, the LED of the Light-Manager turns red. This is true regardless what kind of signal is learned (IR, RF433, RF868, etc.).

Does this happen in your case?

Good evening JBMedia,

Quickly tested, but the led stays blue when entering the learning mode (regardless of the signal I choose).
Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks.

Tom

That's kinda mysterious. Does the green beam in the progress bar appear at least?

Please try the beta version from https://jbmedia.de/airstudio/airStudio991.zip .

For testing this feature the firmware update is not required. Does the LED turn red with this version?

Unfortunately, the beta-version does not make a difference.

When looking at the screen shot of the system information above we just noticed that there is no mac address shown. This is the case when airStudio does not find the Light-Manager in the network. You can check it under options > Light-Manager setup. At the top of the window you should see the IP address. If there is none, this would explain why you can't learn signals.
